Alexis' Ortega also known as "Goldenfingers" is a pianist and composer of remarkable brilliance. Alexis' was born in Santiago De Cuba, Cuba. He gained his education from the "Conservatory of Santiago de Cuba." He plays thirteen different instruments which demonstrate his extraordinary talent. He's experience goes back to twenty-one years of playing professionally and establishing a career as one of the island's most top pianist, arranger and composer. Alexis Ortega has worked as a musical director and as a composer for Emilio and Gloria Estefan for eight years at the prestigious "Larios on the Beach" restaurant. Furthermore, he also started his own band called "Ahi-namaa" rated as a 4-STAR BAND in the Miami Herald newspaper. As a musical director, arranger and composer he played at "Casa Larios" in South Miami, Florida, another reputable restaurant for four years. In addition Alexis' played Latin Jazz at Van Dyke Café in South Beach, Festival Viva Chicago, Miracle Mile Jazz Festival, Jennifer Lopez wedding, for Andy Garcia and his movie "Lorca," Miami Superbowl in 1999, Miami Beach Music Festival and it was an honor for Alexis' when his band was hired to play for the President of the United States, Jorge W. Bush, on three different occasions. Alexis' music can be compared to the sounds of many unforgettable musicians, such as Ruben Gonzalez, Pedro Justi (Peruchin), Frank Emilio Flynn, and many more. His music explores what Latin Jazz is truly all about, with a combination of Classical, R & B, Funk, Rock and Afro-Cuban. He has demonstrated his talent working with Nestor Torres, Rey Ruiz, Victor Manuel, Olga Guillot, El General, Arturo Sandoval, Pablo Montero, Laura Zapata, Alvaro Torres, Cuban Masters, Cachao, Victoria, Zol, Javier Suarez and Grupo Mayonesa and many more. We can appreciate his work as a composer in his latest CD "Siglos y Dias," where his beautiful music is the result of the combination of his marvelous inspiration and his outstanding talent.
