Rock, Folk and World
The band Alice Brennen (turkish-irish-speed-folk) was founded in W. Berlin in 1995 by Doug Henderson (dougfender) and Noël O'Callaghan where impetus and instrumentation combined elements of rock, punk and folk music. Exploring the musical boundaries of orient and occident, the band played many concerts and events in Berlin (Carnival of Cultures, Musicale Vitale, Radio Multikulti, MTV, Deutsche Welle, etc.) and throughout Europe - from Aarhus to Istanbul - until their hiatus in 1999. Alice Brennen made music "with impatient passion and a sharp rectilinearity for a folk-Rockin-post-punky mestizo society".
