Alisa Wood (formerly Alisa Alvarez) is a Singer Songwriter and Poet well known for her work in the early Los Angeles Alternative and punk scene. 1982 - current. Her song," I Want to be a Prostitute" reached #7 on Rodney on the Roq, KROQ Charts. Debbie Peterson from The Bangels plays drums on this record. She also appears on Posh Boy's Music for Maniacs alongside David Bowie, the Germs, The Cramps, Henry Rollins. Alisa can be heard on Radio Tokyo Tapes volumes 1, 3, The Best of Radio Tokyo Tapes and Radio Tokyo Tapes Women. She received noteworthy reviews in the early 80's and 90's in LA Weekly, Bam Magazine, Venice Magazine, LA Rocks, Flipside and countless others, quoted as being a charming Chanteuse with an offbeat and acerbic sense of humor. With song titles such as "I love you like a thorn in my Side", "Animals get used for meat" The horror of traffic tickets, Pregnant teens who turn into beauty school hopefuls.
