Allan Blank (1925–2013) was an American composer, violinist, and music educator, member of The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (1950–52). He attended the Juilliard School in 1945–47 and obtained a bachelor's degree from Washington Square College in 1948. Blank continued his studies at The University of Minnesota, where he obtained a master's degree in 1970, and the University of Iowa. Allan Blank used to teach composition at various institutions from the mid-sixties until the late nineties, such as Western Illinois University, Paterson State Teachers College, Lehman College, and Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout his career, the composer published over 60 chamber and orchestral works, including 3 operas, concertinos, string and wind quartets.
