A Limited pressing of 300 copies. Some copies with black & white front cover and housed in a screened PVC sleeve. South American Psychedelic Guitar Masterworks: Volume One Almendra was one of the three most influential bands of the 60s-70s Argentine rock scene (along with Vox Dei and Pappo's Blues). A quartet comprised of the twin lead guitars of Luis Alberto Spinetta & Edelmiro Molinari and the rhythm section of Carlos Emilio del Guercio & Rodolfo Garcia, their first two self-titled albums are sampled from on this collection. The second record, a double album from 1970, is among the most powerful and important albums of South American psychedelia. The members of Almendra also went on to play with other influential Argentinian rock bands, most importantly Color Humano and Pescado Rabioso.
