A.k.a. Alton Ellis, Eddy Parkins
First step in Alton Ellis long musical career. After winning a few dance competions, he started a singing duo with Eddy Parkins. They were heavily influenced by American R&B music of the 50ties. Starting 1959, they recorded a few songs for Blue Beat before they switched to Clement "Coxsone" Dodd's Studio One/Coxsone. They also scored a massive hit with Muriel / Walk All Over at Dodds first commercially-oriented recording session at Federal studios. Some more tunes got recorded for Vincent "Randy" Chins Randy's. The cooperation ended after winning a major talent contest when Eddy moved to the U.S.
