Amanda is most well-known for originating the role of Elphaba in the Australian production of Wicked. For playing the role, Amanda was nominated for Green Room, Helpmann and Sydney Theatre Awards for Best Leading Actress in a Musical. Amanda made her professional debut playing Jenny in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Aspects of Love. Other theatrical credits in Australia include Sunset Boulevard with Hugh Jackman, Miss Saigon, The Boy from Oz, City of Angels, Les Miserables, and We Will Rock You, for which she was awarded the 2004 Helpmann Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Oz. For The Production Company, Amanda has appeared in Mame, She Loves Me, Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma! and as Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes. Amanda created the role of Paula in the world premiere of An Officer and A Gentleman, for which she was again nominated for a Helpmann. Amanda’s most recent mainstage appearance was in the 2018 production of The Rocky Horror Show where she played Magenta and The Usherette. On London’s West End, Amanda was an original company member of We Will Rock You (Dominion Theatre). Amanda also played Ali in Mamma Mia! at the Prince Edward Theatre. Amanda’s TV appearances in the UK include Parkinson, Children in Need and the Queen’s Jubilee Celebration – Party at the Palace with the WWRY cast, and guest roles in Oscar Charlie, Grange Hill and Casualty, all for the BBC. In New York, Amanda sang ‘The Wizard and I’ at Carnegie Hall for G’day Australia Week in 2009. Amanda can be heard on I Dreamed a Dream – Hit Songs from Broadway, and on Witches, soon to be released on ABC Classics. In concert Amanda has performed in Do You Hear the People Sing? alongside Lea Salonga and Michael Ball, and also in The Music of Queen at The Sydney Opera House and Melbourne’s Hamer Hall. Most recently Amanda performed alongside her fellow Wicked alumni in Witches at the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Amanda is an accomplished voice actor and has voiced characters in animations Get Ace and Kuu Kuu Harajuku for Ch10. Amanda also appeared in Cyrens – The Swinging Songbook of Cy Coleman at the Adelaide and Melbourne Cabaret Festivals.
