Ammie Brod is an American violist. As a member of Ensemble Dal Niente, Ammie has collaborated with such composers as Chaya Czernowin, Mark Andre, Kaija Saariaho, Hans Thomalla, Marcos Balter, and Augusta Read Thomas. She also attended Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik, Darmstadt, helping Dal Niente to earn a Kranichsteiner Stipendium Prize, as well as the highest award of the program, Kranichsteiner Musikpreis. In addition to her work with Chicagoan group, Brod made appearances with Quince Contemporary Vocal Ensemble and participated in Omaha Under the Radar festival and Project Incubator at the University of Chicago, which emphasizes direct collaboration between composers and performers during the writing process.
