Amo Chip Dabney is a Grammy Award nominated multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer-songwriter and producer. He was born in 1954 in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Newark, New Jersey. He attended the Newark High School for the Performing Arts where he studied saxophone, bass, piano and composition. In addition to those instruments he plays clarinet, guitar, keyboards and synthesizers of all sorts, drums and percussion. He is best known as a member of the R. Carlos Nakai Quartet, performing on all of their albums including the Grammy nominated "People Of Peace" (2005). Amo Chip received a second Grammy nomination for "Beyond Words" (2006), a collaboration with Gentle Thunder and Will Clipman. He currently lives in Tuscon, Arizona.
