Amos Larkins II began as a clasically trained session bass player and self taught engineer working in the post-Disco Miami music scene. In 1984 he became hired to produce the FBI Crew's theme song in the ill-fated Miami Breakdancing film "Cry of the City". After the film was revamped as "Knights of the City" and released in 1985, his track was cut from the soundtrack, but his work as a producer caught the attention of Sunnyview Records. They gave him side labels such as Prime Choice, Double Duce, On, Roc, and Party Rock Records to test out the local Rap market of the mid-80s under a variety of names. In just a short period of 3 years, he produced Electro/Bass/Freestyle classics such as Connie's "Funky Little Beat", Krush II's "Ghetto Jump, Gucci Crew II's "Gucci Bass", MC A.D.E.'s "Bass Rock Express", and a solo song "Rock the Planet" under the guise of The Megatrons. Amos temporarily retired from music production in 1987, selling his final track, a sequal to "Rock the Planet", to DXJ at Jamarc Records. DXJ released the song on his "Miami Bass Machine" compilation in 1989 as "Return to Rock" by The Amos Larkins Experience. After years off, Amos decided to actually return to rock once the Miami Bass revival got underway, reuniting with Paul Klein of Sunnyview/Hot Productions at his new outfit Empire MusicWerks. They released an anthology of his work entitled "Amos Larkins II Presents Miami Electro Bass Classics" in 2005.
