Romanian poet, essayist born 25 March 1942 in Timisoara.She took the pen name Ana Blandiana after the village of her mother to avoid repercussion of her father,a preacher who was a political prisoner of the late `40 communist regime. Was banned many times of writting by the Ceausescu regime.After 1989 Revolution she was a political activist against Iliescu party(National Salvation Front) and then opened a memorial place of Sighet a former political prison where many political prisoners were tortured(including his father).
