André Serre-Milan (b. 1965) is a French composer. He began studying clarinet at Lyons Conservatory and actively participated in the seminars of Helmut Lachenmann, Jonathan Harvey, Tristan Murail, Gilbert Amy, Pierre Henry, Emmanuel Nunes and Philippe Manoury. Andre also attended a computer music course at Ircam and trained in opera/music theatre with Pascal Dusapin. As a composer-in-residence, Serre-Milan visited many experimental music production and research organizations around the world, including GMEM, INA-GRM, Studios GRAME, CMA Studio, Danmarks Radio, Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics, and Center for New Music and Audio Technologies (CNMAT). Serre-Milan's works were commissioned by Radio France and several prominent French ensembles, such as the Orchestre Philharmonique De Radio France, Ensemble Orchestral De Paris, and Orchestre De Lyon. In 2006, his …Pour quelques âmes volées for female voice and orchestra was selected for the UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers. Since 2002, André Serre-Milan has been working in duo with a composer Yé Lassina Coulibaly. He started developing an innovative pedagogical approach to the electro-acoustic composition with Carl Faia at Art Zoyd Studios in 2005; the research culminated in the annual multimedia spectacle Sonoscopie. Serre-Milan also collaborated with Art Zoyd and numerous other musicians, writers, choreographers, stage directors and visual artists.
