Musician of Dance and Electronic
Also known as 5053x (sosex) is a Venezuelan-American multi-instrumentalist, based in Atlanta, GA. Andres started his musical training at the age of 9, playing organ and studying music theory. At age 13 he decided to pursue the guitar as his main instrument, also studying music composition and harmony for jazz, rock and pop. Throughout his teenage years, he taught himself to play the drums and bass guitar. He grew up with a strong influence of classic rock listening to bands like Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and the like, and later he would move into the post-punk era listening to bands like The Cure, Joy Division and Durutti Column. The alternative rock scene of the 90s would make a big impact in his music, listening to bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Collective Soul and Stone Temple Pilots, just to name a few. The rock scene in Latin America would also be of great influence and definitely left a mark in his sound and style, along with the inevitable exposure to more ethnic rhythms ranging from the afro-caribbean sounds to andean music. In his 20's, Andres grew into the electronic scene, and started flirting with samplers and synthesizers, as well as DJing, recording and mixing equipment and software. His resume includes being a member of Los Andes Electronics or LAE (Spanish for The Electronics Andes, Venezuelan electronic music collective), singer/guitarist/programmer of bands "Submarino" and "Dioslepague" (LAE) since the mid 90's, and recently for "Crucero" (d.a.t.a). Recording appearances include: • Dioslepague's "Musik Für Die Mutterapostel" (Infeliz Records/Los Insolitos,1999), "Venus Mixes" (LAE/FNB, 2001) and "Bronceador"(LAE, 2003) • Submarino's debut album (LAE/FNB, 2001) • Crucero's "Huracan" EP (d.a.t.a., 2006) • Panasuyo's debut album "Monte y Culebra" laying guitar tracks on "Tierra Querida" and remixing the single "Rio Bellisimo". • Sr. Mendezz's (formerly known as Panasuyo) "Papá del Panasuyo" laying guitar tracks on "Corazón y Mente" and "En Boca". • Trujillo's debut album laying vocal and guitar tracks, as well as co-writing the single "Daltonic Now" (LAE). • Kontraband Muzik's debut EP "Tonight's The Night" as a producer, recording engineer, as well as programming, playing guitar and bass tracks, and laying vocal tracks (Available on iTunes). • Beauty for Ashes' debut EP "Death To The Beautiful" laying guitar and bass tracks, as well as programming and keyboards (Available on iTunes). Other projects include a symphony tribute to Pink Floyd (as Lead guitarist, Singer and Orchestral Arrangements); remixing Los Paranoias (Venezuela); and as guest musician for the most recent recordings of Barbozza (LAE), Vilis, and Garnica (Galaktika Records). Andres is currently the guitarist and programmer for Atlanta rock band Beauty for Ashes (featuring Shane Evans, from Collective Soul); and rock in spanish band Rezur.
