[npg019] Andrea Valle "Vedute Della Luna Scritte In Braille" 2013 mp3 (320 kbps) / flac available at http://shop.nephogram.net/npg019-andrea-valle-vedute-della-luna-scritte-in-braille Computer music without computer sound. The “Vedute” are entirely played by Rumentarium, a computer-driven electro-mechanical ensemble realized with scavenged DC motors and other discarded materials. The “Vedute” are inspired by the discovery of the real lunar surface by Galileo Galilei as described in his “Sidereus Nuncius” (1610), who revealed the Moon’s mineral, desert-like, tactile nature. Tracks 1, 4, 7, 10, 13 are generated by sonifying fragments from Galileo’s book; tracks 2, 5, 8, 11 and 14 make use of graphical scores; tracks 3, 6, 9 and 12 are improvised.
