Musician / Conductor of Classical
A.k.a. Andreas Hérm Baumgartner

Conductor, Music Director, Trumpeter Andreas Hérm Baumgartner was born in Wasserburg am Inn, Germany, in 1974. At the age of six, he was given trumpet lessons. Although he was conscious of his artistic talent for conducting, this instrument continued to be the focus of his musical activities until the early 1990s: as a pupil, he regularly appeared in his hometown, both as a soloist and with the orchestra and in various instrumental ensembles. From 1990 onwards, he studied privately with Prof. Paul Lachenmeir at the Munich Musikhochschule. During this time, he also made his first appearances as a conductor with various youth orchestras in Rosenheim and Augsburg. Following his debut, a classic jumping-in at the last minute, he came to a brilliant success and was being celebrated as a "born conductor " and "genius" . After graduating from high school in 1994, Baumgartner studied at Mozarteum conducting and piano at Salzburg's International Academy of Music and Performing Arts. His teachers include Michael Gielen , Jorge Rotter and Prof. Piekarz (long-term board member of the Salzburger Festspiele). From 1996 onwards, he continued his studies privately with Anton Ruppert (composer and solo correspondent with the Bavarian State Opera) and Prof. Johannes Fischer (Munich Music School), where he increasingly turned to opera literature. A year later, Zubin Mehta drew attention to the young musician, and then took him to the Bavarian State Opera as an assistant, later as an assistant , where he participated in the rehearsal of some outstanding new productions, including "Tristan und Isolde", "Der Freischütz" , And the outstanding premiere of Aribert Reimann's Lorca opera "Bernarda Alba's House" conducted by Zubin Mehta, "Lohengrin" and "Arabella" under Peter Schneider, and especially under Ivor Bolton Mozart's La clemenza di Tito, Handel's "Ariodante" And Monteverdis "L'Orfeo". Since summer 2005, he has been conducting the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra at the International Festival of Contemporary Music in Olomouc. With the same orchestra, he records contemporary music for worldwide CD labels such as "Naxos", "Albany Records" and "Vienna Modern Masters". In 2006/2007 he continued his recording activities with the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmony.
