Radioplay commissioned by the European Broadcasting Union. First broadcast: June 18 2001, WDR. The CD release was postponed for several months in the aftermath of 9/11. In June 2002, "Crashing Aeroplanes" was awarded the "Hörspielpreis der Kriegsblinden", Germany's highest award for radioplays (which had already been attributed to Ammer/Einheit's joint production Apocalypse Live in 1995).
