A.k.a. Flux (22) Natural Frequencies Trieb.Werk Vocophon
This brilliant, yet little-known, German artist has a flair for combining refined ambiences with driving funk bass lines and rock beats. His well-constructed melodies and improvisations are often quite catchy, while his song titles and symbolic sonic imagery are lined with social commentary. Classically trained, Leifeld makes a living as a music teacher in Paderborn, Germany, and his modest apartment is overrun with all manner of electronic gadgetry. He is truly a living, breathing example of the cyberpunk mentality -- you get the feeling he would gladly leave earthly concerns behind if he could download the essence of his mind, body, and soul onto a hard disk. Sad News: Andreas Leifeld died on the 1st of February 2006 in a Hospital... We miss you, R.I.P. Andreas!
