Andy had a major stroke and required emergency brain surgery to save his life. This 'brain attack' prematurely ended his drumming and teaching career. He has learned to walk again but has been left with many physical and mental deficits, as is typical with brain injury. He is working on releasing a CD about his brain attack (stroke) story to raise funds for charity and to raise awareness of stroke, particularly amongst younger people.
