Andy Griffith
What It Was, Was Football

Single US 1953 on Colonial label
Spoken Word (Comedy)

Original local/regional issue of "Deacon" Andy Griffith's most famous monologues, before being picked up for national release by Capitol Records. 'C' in deadwax to right of stamped matrix numbers indicated original use by RCA's Canonsburg, PA plant; B side 'N' at 12 o'clock indicated a pressing by RCA's New York plant (which preceded by several months the opening of RCA Records Pressing Plant, Rockaway). B side on this issue has several portions strewn about (aggregate total 1:01) that were edited out of the track by the time of the Capitol release.
