"Love Me Leave Me" is undoubtedly one of Anji Bee's best-known and most-loved songs online. The lyrics and vocal melodies were originally written in mid-2003 for a musical collaboration that never materialized. But Anji loved the song idea so much that she sent her demo vocals to Canadian producer, Rom di Prisco, who created a version for his 2004 Bitstream Dream album, ‘Integration.’ This self-released album has long been out of print, and the song is only available in mp3 format from pirate music sites. Anji had never been satisfied with her hastily recorded demo vocals, and longed for the chance to produce a finely crafted version of the song with the same level of care put into vocal sessions with her band, Lovespirals. It was with great delight that she accepted the offer of Lovespirals partner, Ryan Lum, to recreate "Love Me Leave Me" in their own Chillcuts Studio. Armed with a vintage Neumann mic, a state of the art reverb unit by Bricasti, and an additional decade of singing, recording, and production experience, Anji has finally brought her melancholic lyrics to life with all of the sensual and jazzy nuances she knew her fans deserved to hear… at long last. This extended single features remixes by an international group of producers -many sharing a close history with Anji, including her own band, Lovespirals, long-time collaborator, The Grooveblaster, German producer, Alfa Kay, who just released a new 2-song collaborative single with Anji, and Karmacoda, whom she's currently working with on their forthcoming 5th album. Also included in this set are more recent collaborators, The Morphism and Daniel Knoxville, who are fans of Anji's work with Bitstream Dream, and San Francisco producer/DJ outfit, Urban Punks. To round out the collection, the original Bitstream Dream version has been included, so listeners can hear how much the song has evolved in over the past decade. With its mix of chill out, downtempo, trip hop, deep house, techno pop, breaks and progressive house sounds, there should be a remix to suite every taste.
