Singer / Composer of Classical and Electronic
Anna Clyne (b. 1980) is a British composer from London who currently lives in the United States. She writes electroacoustic music, such as instrumental compositions with tape/electronics, as well as chamber, orchestral, and vocal works. Anna graduated with honors from the University of Edinburgh, earning her Bachelor of Music degree. She continued studying in America and received an M.A. degree from the Manhattan School of Music. In October 2009, Clyne and Mason Bates were named co-composers in residence with The Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Originally signed only for a 2010/11 season, they subsequently served at CSO until 2015. Anna Clyne was a director of the New York Youth Symphony's Making Score program for young composers from 2008 to 2010. As a prominent interdisciplinary collaborator, she has worked with many pioneering artists, such as Björk, R. Luke Dubois, Josh Dorman, Jody Elff, Joshue Ott, and choreographers Nicolo Fonte, Kitty McNamee, Matthew Neenan. Clyne's music is published exclusively by Boosey & Hawkes.
