Anne Velli (birth name Anne Maisalu, properly-Anne Velli Eenloo, was born 28 June 1946 in Tallinn) and is an Estonian singer. She began her career in 1962 in the band called Norma (conducted by Kustas Kikerpuu), later between the years 1966-1968 she was a member in the vocal group Collage and thereafter in 1969 she switched membership to the vocal group Laine (The Waves) and remained there until 1973. She sings lead vocal on some tracks on this Laine LP: Estraadiansambel Laine / The Laine Girls And Their Band She also sang as a solo artist during these years in a TV program called "Horoskoop", which was a kind of musical entertainment program in the style of "Ready, Steady, Go" She graduated Tallinn Music School as a flutist in 1968 and in the year 1979 she graduated the Tallinn State Conservatory. Her musical style has been very mixed, from jazz-like songs to popsongs, for example an Estonian cover of ABBAs "Fernando". When she was in "Laine", they traveled and sang in many parts of the Soviet Union, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, and the GDR. She was the one who covered Raimonds Pauls song "Zilie Lini" in Estonian (est. Sinine lina), translated to english it would mean "The Blue Flax". The song gained major popularity in Estonia.
