A.k.a. Annie Barley Givler
Annie Barley is an American cellist, chamber performer and soloist, ex-member of Tarab Cello Ensemble, who currently lives in Philadelphia. At the age of fifteen, Annie went to study in Japan, where she performed for Shinichi Suzuki (2) and the Emperor of Japan. After graduating from the Pittsburgh High School for Creative and Performing Arts, Annie Barley continued her education at the Eastman School Of Music, where she became a member of Tarab octet and received her Bachelor's degree. While attending the University Of South Florida, where Annie received her Master's degree, she was a member of Presidential Piano Trio, the USF School Of Music ensemble-in-residence. Some of her principal teachers include Anne Martindale Williams, Alan Harris (7), Scott Kluksdahl and Pamela Frame. A prolific music educator and cello instructor, Annie Barley Givler has served on the faculty the Hochstein School Of Music, The University Of Rochester, Pittsburgh Music Academy, Kanack School of Music, Patel Conservatory, and the University of Hartford Suzuki Institute. She is currently teaching at Ogontz Suzuki Institute and her private cello studio.
