Portuguese Clarinetist. António Rosa was born in 1977. He studied at the Conservatório Nacional de Música de Lisboa (Lisbon National Conservatory of Music), at the Escola Profissional de Música de Almada (Almada's Professional School of Music) and got his degree at the ESMAE (Oporto Superior School of Music and Performing Arts), in the class os António Saiote. In his graduation year, he was awarded by the Fundação Engenheiro António de Almeida (best student of each instrument in each year). Moreover, he won several competitions: "Jovens Clarinetistas" Oporto 2000, "Marcos Romão dos Reis" Loures 2001, I.C.A. Stockholm (Sweden) 2002 and "Concurso Internacional de Clarinete de Montroy" Valence (Spain) 2003. He is founder member of the Quarteto de Clarinetes do Porto, Soloist of the Orquestra Nacional do Porto (Oporto National Orchestra), since January 2002, and regularly collaborates with the Gulbenkian Orchestra.
