The fruitful collaboration between Outhere Music and the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel that began ten years ago continues with an exciting large-scale project focusing on Dvořák’s chamber music with keyboard. The third recording in this four-CD series of the complete piano trios, piano quartets and piano quintets is devoted to the two Piano Quintets and the Bagatelles. Here the Busch Trio is accompanied by an eminent musician, Miguel da Silva, violist of the Quatuor Ysaÿe from 1984 to 2014, but also by the violinist Maria Milstein, who was once an artist in residence but currently is associated artist of the Music Chapel. This project owes its origins to the arrival from England of the youthful Busch Trio in Septembre 2014 to chamber music section of the Chapel as trio in residence. Its members immediately captivated the Artemis Quartet with the quality of their playing and their exceptionally rigorous approach. A second encounter took place a few months later, this time with the Master in residence for viola Miguel da Silva, who worked on a series of programmes with the Busch Trio and very quickly decided to perform in public and record with the group. ‘On the notion of encounter between the Busch Trio and myself: encounters between artists are frequent, indeed are part of their very stock-in-trade. It is very often a random, mysterious, irresistible encounter that fashions our life and transforms it into destiny.’ ‘For this set of the piano quartets, I have nothing to add to the above – except my great pride in having recorded with the Busch Trio! Their work is magnifi cent in its realisation, its construction, its culture and sensibility.’ Miguel da Silva "The Busch Trio is composed of outstandingly appealing musical personalities enriched by an already substantial experience as solo artists. This highly successful penultimate instalment in the project confi rms the qualities we may now confi dently expect from the complete set." Bernard de Launoit Executive President Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel
