Saint Petersburg Soundscape. Thrmn 007 2016 Este trabajo, en la línea de mi primer proyecto en el que utilicé grabaciones de campo tomadas en Berlín, utiliza sonidos obtenidos en San Petersburgo, en agosto de 2015. En esta ocasión el protagonismo es principalmente para las voces de la ciudad y sus músicos callejeros. San Petersburgo resultó ser más ruidosa de lo esperado y era totalmente necesario documentar sus distintas voces: personas que ofrecen servicios turisticos, músicos de la calle, clubs de jazz como The Hat, letanías de los monjes en las numerosas iglesias y santuarios de la ciudad. Esta es la imagen que me llevé de esta ciudad fascinante, el multiforme vocerío de su gente y sus caras, algunas de las cuales he puesto en la documentación de portada. Caras vistas por la calle, en los cuadros de los museos, en las esculturas de la calle. Estoy convencido de que uno se hace a la idea de cómo suena la ciudad escuchando este trabajo. This work, in the same direction that my first project, where I used field recordings taken in Berlin, uses sounds obtained in Saint Petersburg, in August 2015. Here the main role is mainly taken by the voices of the city and its street musicians. Sain Petersburg was far more noisy that expected, and it was necessary to document its variety of voices: people offering touristic services, street musicians, jazz clubs such as The Hat, and the prayers of monks in the many sanctuaries and churches of the city. This is the sound image I keep from this fascinating place, a multishaped variety of voices and faces, some appearing in the artwork. Faces seen in the streets, in the pictures in the museums, in the sculptures spread all over the city. I'm pretty sure that one can get an idea of the city sound listening to this work. Antoni Robert (Barcelona, 1954) studied astrophysics and quantum physics. He holds a PhD by Barcelona UPC. Always interested in experimental music and creativity methodologies such as “lateral thinking”, he had his own record label from 1990 to 2000, releasing more than 35 cd's. In 2015 he decided to start producing his own sound projects. The first one to be released has been “7 Berlin S-Bahn stations on the way to listen to Achim (Hazard Records 87, 2015). And this is his second released work. His work is based on field recordings processing, and synthesyzed electric guitar, and strongly influenced by some dark ambient masters. In this work however no instruments are used. Antoni Robert (Barcelona, 1954) estudió astrofísica y física cuántica. Es físico y Doctor por la Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. Siempre interesado en la música experimental y en las metodologías de estímulo de la creatividad, como el “pensamiento lateral”, tuvo su propio sello discográfico desde 1990 hasta 2000, publicando más de 35 cd's. En 2015 decide empezar a producir sus propios proyectos sonoros. El primero en ser publicado es “7 Berlin S-Bahn stations on the way to listen to Achim (Hazard Records 87, 2015). Hasta la fecha ha editado “Hidden Pattern #1” (Wet Dreams Records) y “Train Pieces” (Hazard Records). Su trabajo se basa en el procesado de grabaciones de campo, y en la guitarra sintetizada, y está fuertemente influenciado por algunos de los maestros del dark ambient, como Brian Eno y Roedelius. En este trabajo, sin embargo, no utiliza instrumentos.
