A.k.a. Antonio Cantoral García
Mexican singer and composer, born in the city of Tampico, Tamaulipas, on October 17, 1928 - passed away November 4, 1964, older brother of Roberto Cantoral. Early in his career, Antonio wrote songs alongside his brother Robert, some of these songs became international hits as "El preso número nueve" and "El crucifijo de piedra" . On October 23, 1953 he married María Teresa Gorbea Tejeda, The marriage ended on May 8, 1960, when his beloved wife died tragically. In 1962, Antonio, Roberto and his group of musicians Los Plateados de Mexico (The Silver of Mexico), undertake an very successful artistic tour to Europe and the Middle East (Romania, Yugoslavia etc.).
