AraPacis is a Canadian hard rock/progressive rock/doom metal band formed in early 2003 by guitarist Jerry Fielden and fronted by Scots singer Shelle Macpherson. The stated goal is to recreate aspects of 70’s era hard rock with the early 21st century doom and prog metal feels. The band is named for the monument in Rome, the Ara Pacis, an altar to peace commissioned by the Roman emperor Augustus.
