Album 2012 on First Fold Records label
Electronic (Experimental)
"Named after a neurotic Italian lady at a past place of work, Electronica producer Arc Vel (Birmingham, UK) came to be when a friend required some soundscapes to accompany a photography exhibition. Drawing on influences from both the post-rock and electronic music genres, these free form compositions provided the catalyst to produce more structured works that shift between aural intricacies and dance-floor motions. His debut album 'Orrery' was released through independent label First Fold Records in 2012. A collection of unfolding textures, frenetic beats and supple bass, online 'zine ’God is in the TV' described it as, ‘…a gloriously Technicolor headphonic trip, the melodies smooth, sleek and spacious …whose application of mood, atmosphere and ear candy arrangements appears second to none.' Following this release, Arc Vel’s music was picked up by Universal publishing where his tracks are now used globally for television & film work, as well as receiving support from both BBC6 and Amazing Radio. Currently finishing up on a new album with a transition to a more robust, synth-driven sound (reflecting a personal move closer to the heart of the city), a new track featured on Birmingham’s ‘Weird On Purpose’ label in 2016 which was chosen to showcase the best of the city’s diverse music scene." -Notes directly from Original Artist
