Omnia (2) was a subsidiary Pathé label solely employed for 8" 78 rpm releases. On this instrumental disc Armandinho, whose real name was Armandinho Augusto Freire (1891-1946) plays the Portuguese guitar, accompanied by Georgino de Sousa on viola (the Portuguese name for the Portuguese version of the steel-strung regular 6-string guitar). NOTE: Armandinho's full name NEVER included the name "Salgado". This error has become widespread even in putatively authentic contexts.
