Armando Camejo, born in Mérida, Yucatán, in 1891. In the year of 1914 and Armando Camejo Jiménez, singer, musician and actor, he was already working in the cast of the nascent Yucatan regional theater in Mérida. In June 1932, accompanied by a guitar, he played a poetry by José Santos Chocano entitled "Ansias", thus giving rise to his famous bambuco "El Jaguar". Then he released his theme "Sepulturero" which was a national success and then renowned characters began to offer his verses for him to music. In 1935 Camejo was part of the quintet "Zamná".
