Italian progressive band formed in 1999 by drummer Gabriele Rossi, who called composer Paolo Fosso , violinist Jacopo Bigi, violinist Giovanni Lanfranchi and Andrea Bacchio (bass). They released an album in 1999 (Inuit), produced by Andrea Bacchio and recorded by Roberto Re. The band splited in the early 2000. In 2015, Paolo & Jacopo decided to forma new band while borrowing the name of their old one, even if the other guys have never given their permission to use the same old name which was created by the band founder, Gabriele Rossi. When the new line up had enough tracks to make an album, they hired Porcupine Tree's bassist, Colin Edwin and Dutch drummer Jasper Barendregt for the recording. The Sun Is New Each Day was released in the same year and produced by Paul Reeve with mastering at the Abbey Road Studios in London On September 21, Armonite performed at Expo 2015 Milano for “The Water Rooms” Official Launch organized by UNESCO. After their performance in Bettmeralp, Switzerland, March 2016, at an elevation of 2,000 meters (6,500 ft), the band toured UK in mid-July. With the track 'Blue Curaçao' included in their new album, Armonite have been awarded an Honorable Mention both in the Instrumental and Performance categories at the International Songwriting Competition 2017 from a top level committee including Tom Waits, Lorde, Bastille (4), Billy Cobham, Billy Cobham, Ziggy Marley, Don Omar and Keane. On May 25, 2018, Cleopatra Records released band's new album, "And the Stars Above".
