Art by machinery was started in the autumn 1993. The band released 3 full albums & contributed on different compilation albums. The compilation album "Party terror II" was the first ever release for Art by Machinery, and "Strange" were picked to represent the band. In October 1994 Art by Machinery played on Bootleg where four songs was recorded on film. The first album was called Deus ex machina which means "God as a machine". It was recorded in Brygga Studio in February 1995. In January 1996 Art by machinery went once again to Brygga Studio to record their second album "melon". This time they introduced something new into the music, they used sequencers, computers and synths. A video was made for the song "Melon" In the years to follow the band just contributed on different compilation albums. The last live apperance was on the Tråkk festival in Trondheim 1997.
