Chopin´s Nocturne Op. 37 n. 2 with its "barcarole" movement, its two themes strucutre and the instable and agitated atmosphere of its modulations was one of the pieces played in what can be rearded as Arthur Rubinstein´s first official recital, in Berlin on 12th February 1903, along with Beethoven´s Sonata Op. 90, Brahms Capriccio Op. 76 n.2, Intermezzo Op. 117 n. 2 and the Second Book of his "Variations on a theme by Paganini", Schumann´s Davidsbündlertänze Op. 6, as well as a few pagescertainly not amongst his easiest ones - of Chopin, namely the Mazurkas Op. 50 n. 1 Op. 63 n.
