Musician / Composer / Arranger / Conductor of World, Pop and Folk
Aryeh Levanon (born Leon WIseman in Romania, 1932) is an Israeli composer, conductor, arranger and violinist. He immigrated to Israel in 1951 and studied composing and conducting at the Tel Aviv Academy of Music. He served as the Music Director for The Central Command Troupe until he was discharged from the IDF in 1958. In the 1960s he wrote music for and served as Music Director for a variety of musicals and films. Levanon was the conductor in residence for the Israel Opera from 1972 until 1982. He won the ACUM Prize in 2014 for his many contributions to the development of Israeli music. He is currently on the Board of Directors at ACUM.
