The Rising Sun is a project behind the music to the multi-vision show "Valse de la Vie" by filmer-photographer Joop Pieete Sr.. A Waterland/JPS Production in cooperation with Asahi Optical Company, presented by Asahi-Pentax Nederland in several Dutch towns during 1978. The music for this show was composed by four members of the Dutch rock band Water (4), Ron Westerbeek, Jan Van Dijk, Allaert Troost and John Lagrand. They were joined by three other musicians; Jeroen Nieuwint, Paul Koek and Hans Meijdam to record the music for the multi-vision show, released in corporation with Asahi Optical Company on the record The Rising Sun.
