When KROQ-FM added I'm Disconnected too air play rotation, the program director told me it would get more air play if it was shorter. That night Jim Hill and I went to Crystal Studios in Hollywood so Jim could edit it down to 3:14. The next day I was at the pressing plant in Hawthorne, CA having it mastered. Two days later I had test pressings and that afternoon KROQ was playing the short version. We decided to press up a thousand copies to sell and or just give away at shows. Over a 3 year span there were 3 Jim Curnutte album cuts (Factory Life, Animosity and Time Cube) and 3 Assassin of Silence album cuts (Walking in the Moonlight, De-Da-Deat and I'm Disconnected) played on LA based FM radio stations in top play rotation. Not bad for an Indie label band in the late 70's in LA.
