Astrid has always been a Seeker of Truth and for a deeper connection to her Higher Power. Recently, she participated in a book study on “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle. An amazing creative and spiritual awakening occurred for her. This experience inspired Astrid to begin writing her new music and ultimately, her new solo CD “And So It Is.” The music is uplifting and inspiring combining rock, soul, blues and folk…”Music to rock your soul.” Plane is also known as the lead singer of the band Animotion. They had several chart topping hits in the 1980’s including “Obsession.” The song rocketed them to fame in 1985. They appeared on American Bandstand, Soul Train, The American Music Awards and many other TV shows. They had the opportunity to tour the USA, Canada and Europe and film several music videos, which were shown on high rotations on MTV and VH1. “Obsession” is still heard daily on the radio and recently in the TV show “Nip and Tuck.” Other recent uses have been the thought provoking movie, “What the Bleep Do We Know?” “Adventureland,” and “Hot Tub Time Machine.” 80’s music fans often pick “Obsession” as one of the definitive songs of the 80’s. Recently, Astrid and Animotion have been performing shows with other popular bands from the 80’s including Devo, Flock of Seagulls, Missing Persons, Berlin, The Motels and Bow Wow Wow. In her hometown in Central California, her live theatre credits include two musicals at Roger Rockas: “Thoroughly Modern Millie” and “Beehive” in which she played Janis Joplin six nights a week for nine weeks. During the last twelve months, Astrid has been all over the US performing with Animotion including New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Atlantic City. She also opened for Eddie Money with Variety Band, Groove Monkey.
