A.k.a. Rhydian Owen
Austerberry is Rhydian Owen, a 26-year old writer originally from West Wales (UK). Combining his extensive experience as a bassist on the live gig circuit with a degree in classical music, he makes intricate, atmospheric pop music that's already attracting attention. His tracks have been likened to the sound of both Moby and Röyksopp. Austerberry has already caught the eye of Radio 1, with The Bethan and Huw Show playlisting one of his tracks. Some of Austerberry's music has also been played on Ministry of Sound Radio and been featured by NME. Austerberry recently signed a publishing deal with publishers Van Steene Music. He is also working with several labels in the UK and Europe including Outer Hill, Heavy Disco Records and Daddy Fresh Music. The cinematic qualities of Austerberry's music have also impressed, with his tracks recently being used to soundtrack the Channel 5 sports program RAD. More of Austerberry's tracks are set to feature in programs for both HTV and Channel 5 in the coming months. Austerberry's music has also featured on a number of promotional CDs, including ones for A&R Network, Manilla Magazine and CD Pool. Austerberry has also completed a session for BBC Radio Cymru, performed live and recorded a music video for S4C music programs Popcorn and Y Sesiwn Hwyr. Several of his self-produced songs have also been playlisted by BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio Cymru on a regular basis.
