Avraham Shlonsky (born 6 March 6 1900 in the Ukranian village of Kryukovo, Poltava Oblast, Russian Empire, died May 18, 1973 in Tel Aviv) was an Israeli poet, editor, translator and playright. He was sent to the British Mandate of Palestine in 1913 was influential in the development of modern Hebrew literature. He was a winner of both the Bialik Prize and the Israel Prize in literature. Many of his poems have been set to music and on Discogs he will usually be credited for lyrics.
