This recording of "Kontakte" is UHJ encoded for 4-channel surround-sound home listening - fully compatible with normal 2-channel stereo reproduction for listeners who do not have UHJ decoding systems. Both works on the CD were recorded at Clapp Recital Hall, The University of Iowa, Iowa City. - Bartók [aDD] recorded in February 12, 14 and 16, 1979. - Stockhausen [aAD] recorded in April 17, 1976. Recording Equipiment: Neumann KM84, SM69fet, and U87 microphones; Langevin and Ampex mixing systems; Studer and Ampex 2- and 4-track analog mastering recorders, Dolby 361 A-Type noise reduction systems. Production Equipment: Neve 5315/24 mixing console, Mitsubishi X-86 digital mastering recorders, Sony PCM-1630/DMR-4000/DAE-3000 compact disc mastering and editing system.
