Hip-Hop/Rap
A.k.a. Brian Crawford
B.C. was born on December 20th in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1984, B.C. relocated with his family to Fairfield, California. His arrival to California coincided with the introduction of hip-hop music and culture to the world, and it marked the beginning of his love for and desire to create great hip hop music. He began showcasing his talent at the age of 19 for independent rap artists throughout the Bay Area with aspirations of breaking into the national music scene. In 1997, B.C. caught some light in the music business when AWOL Records (3) discovered him. At the time, AWOL, was an independent rap label that had recently inked a deal with Virgin/Noo Trybe Records. He quickly established himself as one of the hottest producers to come out of the Bay Area, working with artists like C-Bo, Killa Tay, Mac Dre and Steady Mobb'n, formerly of Master P‘s No Limit Records, just to name a few. B.C. has also been fortunate to work on albums with platinum-selling producers such as Mike Mosley, Sam Bostic, Femi Ojentunde and Rick Rock (2), all of who have been major influences on his career as a producer. In 2002, B.C. released a compilation CD called “Cali Green.” “Cali Green” was released with two objectives: 1) showcase and provide exposure for undiscovered artists in and around Fairfield, CA and, 2) introduce Northern Cali to the “new” Mob Sound that the Bay Area is best known for. With very little promotion, “Cali Green” sold a few thousand copies and created a buzz for B.C., a now in demand local producer. B.C. continues to work with new artists as well as some established independent artists.
