Babacar Dieng he was born in the city of Louga, (Senegal). Belonging to a family of griots, of long musical tradition and high recognition in his country, his grandfather was "great drum of Senegal"; his father Mamadou "first griot of Senegal"; and his mother, Diakher N'dayye with great artistic and pedagogical skills, is a singer and preserves and transmits his culture: songs, history, legends and oral traditions. Babacar Dieng has been a musician of Yossou N'Dour on his tours of Africa and has collaborated with some of the most prestigious musicians in Senegal, such as Baaba Maal and Ismael Loo. In 1988, he founded the Diengoz group, in his hometown and they began to perform at local parties, subsequently touring all the cities of his country.
