Badala Foly was born in 2005, around the drummer and guitarist singer, Abubakar Kouyaté . DJOLIBA from the village along the Niger River , south of Bamako, MALI , Abubakar Kouyate was born into a family of griots . This album is a tribute to the traditions of Mali , family and Malian music . Together they create a hybrid music, mixing traditional instruments such as kamalen'goni , the balafon, the tamani , the Fulani flute, calabash or djembe, and Western instruments such as drums, bass and electric guitar.
