Barak Tor established in the early days of MMXVI by Barbarian Wraith King with the vision to perform epic dungeon synth. Taking inspiration by HeroQuest and Dark World Trilogy boardgames, by the writings of Robert E. Howard, Michael Moorcock, Karl E. Wagner and other fantasy authors the journey began to an age unknown. A wandering to times where Steel and Valor was the ultimate law. “Wizards of Morcar” EP and “Silent Passages and Hidden Realms” EP introduced Barak Tor to the dungeon dwellers. Released in digital format in February of MMXVI via bandcamp. A deal with Swampkult Productions from New Zealand achieved and the first physical release saw the light of day in May of the same year under the title “The Black Citadel of Bellthor”. It was a compilation of the two digital releases plus two bonus opuses composed for this release. The Artist Abigor Mugerza, infamous for his long term work with Elffor and others becomes the exclusive cover artist for Barak Tor. A three way split came afterwards building an alliance between Barak Tor, Raev Jager and Splendorius from the cold and grim Russia under the name “A Journey Across Primordial Lands”. “The Black Citadel of Bellthor” re-released including all the opuses of Barak Tor until then plus a cover on “Han Som Reiste” of Burzum. A self handled release. The first full length album under the title “March of The Triumphator” released in April of MMXVII opening a new chapter in the sound of Barak Tor. The development to greater symphonic structures and the use of orchestral instruments along with the typical synths gave a grandiose perspective and a soundtrack essence on the projects character, making many people to talk about the continuation of Basil Poleidouri’s heritage. The label Out of Season from USA becomes an ally taking under his wings the tape formats of Barak Tor’s releases. The latest album of Barak Tor “Regal Hymns of Blood - A Symphony of Victory and Might” released in MMXVIII . Keep marching with the familiar well known Glorious feeling but taking a big step further from where the previous album stopped. Darker, heavier and more complex “R.H.o.B.” guarantee an unforgetable journey to the Kingdoms of the Iron Age! MMXVIII also is the year that brought forth a collaboration among the project and the infamous Neuropa Records from Belgium, after the interest of the label on releasing the previous full length in vinyl format.
