DJ and producer Baron Von Rotton’s deep driving bass lines have made him a perennial favourite on Melbourne’s broken beat scene. With a passion for dubstep, breaks and techno, he’s been packing the city’s dancefloors with his fresh remixes and innovative sound.With praise from Trackitdown.net hailing BVR’s remix of Smile on Impact’s STOP! as the “Largest Dubstep Tune from Melbourne, EVER!”, the bestseller reached No. 2 on the site’s Top 100 Dubstep Chart. And to follow up, his remix of Crystal Guns how does it feel made an appearance in Beatports top 10 must hear indie dance tracks. BVR has since been smashing Melbourne’s dance scene, playing alongside some of the heavyweights of dubstep, breakbeat and drum ‘n’ bass including: Skream, Benga, Pendulum, Datsik, Reso, Deekline, Crissy Criss, Flux Pavilion, Doctor P and Sukh Knight. He regularly plays at Melbourne’s dance institutions: The Mercat Cross Hotel, Lounge, Brown Alley, Roxanne Parlour and Miss Libertine – and launched one of Melbourne’s biggest dubstep nights, All City Bass, attracting a stream of renowned international acts. Inspired by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Simon Posford, Gustav Mahler, Prince Paul, Breakage, Tool, Boris Brejcha and 16bit, BVR’s influences traverse through blues, dub, classical, hip hop and drum ‘n’ bass. His eclectic taste and unique sound introduce clubbers to an exceptional live experience, paving the way for his high demand on Victoria’s festival circuit, having recently played at Rainbow Serpent, Every Picture Tells a Story, Ostara and Strawberry Fields.
