While in the recording industry Barry oversaw the role out of the Compact Disc in the US for Philips-Siemens. He's also a pioneer in the recording "reissue" business that came to prominence along with the Compact Disc. He founded the independent label "Upside" along with Investor Robert Melvin Rubin and Musician Gary Lucas. Featured artists were Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Charles Brown and the iconic and influential Arthur Russell. Producer of "When The Sun Goes Down" highly acclaimed series of "pre-war" blues recordings along with Grammy award winner Colin Escott.
