This CD presents a selection of music from two great ceremonies, the lebounaye, an annual Diola harvest ceremony preceding wintering (april/may), and the koré, an initiation ceremony held several times in the year for Bassari boys. Tracks 1 to 5 recorded in april 1967 at Diakoye Bahanga near Sindan (Casamance). Tracks 6 to 9 recorded in May 1967 at Etyolo near Salemata (Senegal).
