Finnish early music Ensemble The basic core of the Battalia ensemble founded in 1989 consists of two violins, one gamba (viol), theorbo and keyboards – when the continuo group appears independently and is augmented by guitars and percussion it uses the "party version" of the name, Ballo della Battalia.
