A.k.a. Analog Suicide BTR Flash Mental Experiment
Batur Sönmez is Turkish experimental, electronic, industrial, noise music pioneer known as "Analog Suicide" and “Noiseistanbul” all around the world. He started his first experimental, industrial, electronic, noise, avant-garde music projects in 1998 and he has been organizing experimental, electronic, noise, avant-garde music events in Istanbul since 1999. He has several musical and audio-visual projects such as: Analog Suicide, Noiseistanbul, Antarktika, Flash Mental Experiment, Heavy Machinery, Sonicspace, Mindscan, Dadaloop, Audio, Radiophonik. He worked on many sound art, video art, audio-visual, multimedia, installation and films. Sönmez was chosen for the International Contemporary Artists exhibition in Istanbul, 2004. He has participated and performed in a lot of live events and festivals around the world in countries such as Turkey, Japan, Russia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, Slovenia, Czech Rep., Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Greece, Lebanon. His music has been broadcasted all over the world. Batur Sönmez founded his independent label, studio and organisation company TRansmit// audio visual arts in 2006 and he continues his duties as the head curator, organizer, producer. He is the curator and organizer of “Signals From Outside” and “Noiseistanbul” live event series which organized more than 40 concerts in 10 years with experimental, electronic, noise, avant-garde musicians from abroad. He also founded and organized “Spektro International Experimental Music And Film Festival” through 2007, 2008, 2009 in Istanbul, Turkey. Nowadays, Batur Sönmez is into all kind of experimental, electronic, noise, industrial, ambient, drone, improvisation, field recordings, soundscape, avant-garde music. He also composes music and sound for films. Sönmez also known as one of the curators of "Anthology of Turkish Experimental Music" album that was released by Sub Rosa record label, Belgium in 2016. In 2017, he started to organize a new live event series called "Sonik Chamber" which brings together artists works around experimental, electronic, noise, industrial, improvised and avant-garde music.
